Megan has over two decades of design, illustration and retail sales experience in the fashion industry. Presently, Megan owns a wedding based business, Megan Hamilton Weddings, with a focus on custom bridal gown illustrations.
Megan illustrates bride and groom attire along with bridesmaid, flower girl and wedding accessories. Megan’s illustrations are purchased by brides and given as gifts from wedding guests, bridal parties and family. Additionally, Megan creates venue illustrations, works with bridal invitation designers and sketches in-store for bridal boutique events.
Megan illustrates from her home studio in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Clients contact Megan through her Etsy shop or email and provide photographs which highlight the details of their attire and accessories. Megan hand-draws every detail through pen and ink, watercolour and colored pencil techniques on large format (11 x 14) heavy weight Bristol paper. Illustrations are packaged in lovely presentation folders and shipped to brides worldwide.
Megan’s illustrations have been featured in wedding publications such as The Knot, Bridal Buyer, Bridal Couture magazine, Exclusive Brides magazine (Australia) and Southern Bride magazine. Megan’s illustrations have been used to create logos for bridal boutiques and her illustrations were exclusive to the Wedding Channel Couture Show presented by The Knot during wedding fashion week 2012. Additionally, Megan has been featured on several bridal blogs and local Pennsylvania publications.
Prior to the formation of her business, Megan graduated from Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design. After college Megan began her education in the industry working at a hometown bridal boutique creating custom bridal gowns and special occasion attire along with one-on-one retail sales. Megan continued her career in the New York City fashion industry where she designed at Jones Apparel Group, Macy’s and David’s Bridal.
